I’m trying something new this week. Instead of typing this post, I’m speaking this post – how cool is that?
My hands are sore, so I’ve been talking to Google Docs and its been typing the words for me. I go back to format the post, but its saved me so much time and pain, I’m like a kid in a candy store 🙂
What I’ve Been Reading This Week
I am determined to self-fund two electric wheelchairs so I’ve revisited The Blogger Course. I figure, if I follow what the course teaches, I’ll have the best chance of earning enough money to pay for my two chairs which are about £4000 in total.
I have also been reading a lot about digital photography. I’m a decent photographer, I even made my living for a while as a portrait photographer. That was back in the day when film cameras were all the rage, yes I’m that old.
If you look at most of the photos on the blog, they’re crap, well below what I’m capable of.
Give me a digital camera and even though most of the photography principles are the same, I might as well be holding a house brick. I hardly ever take the camera out of auto, it frustrates me because I know I’m much better than that.
Anyway, I have been reading these blogs:
And, looking at these digital photography courses:
31 Days to Become a Better Photographer (I’m on the waiting list)
Digital Photography and Videography (Part of The Blogger Course)
Digital Photography Courses on Udemy (some of them are free – yay!)
These courses should help me get more from my iPhone, Canon Compact and my Nikon DSLR when I use it.
What I’ve Been Doing This Week
I’ve had three hospital appointments this week.
The nurses on the high dependency unit said I had sleep apnoea? I mentioned it to my Cardiologist and she said it’s quite common in heart failure patients.
She did a sleep questionnaire and referred me to the sleep unit, who knew there was a sleep unit?
Anyway, this week I went along and had to sleep with a monitor on my chest. We’ll see how that works out because it was the hottest night of the year and nobody could sleep…
I also saw the Urologist who took my kidney out. He’s happy with my progress but wants to monitor me a bit closer. He referred me to Nephrology Doctors, whatever they are, and moved me from a low risk of Cancer returning to an intermediate risk.
He assures me it’s nothing to worry about, it’s just a precaution.
I published two posts last week:
A Weekend Break in North Devon and Cornwall – this post is a roundup of the towns and villages we visited on the North Devon and Cornwall coast.
A Day Out at Lands End in Cornwall – A beautiful place, but not the best review from me because the place is too commercial and so bloody expensive – maybe I found it so expensive because I’m a northerner.
The search for an electric wheelchair continues. I thought I’d narrowed it down to the Pride i-Go, but my head has been turned by these two chairs:
So all in all, by recent standards, it’s been a productive week. I’ve stuck to my schedule, started to love photography again and am a few steps closer to deciding which wheelchairs we’re going to look at.
See you next week, same time same place.
